Local Leader Panel: Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, 7 pm

A special program at Church of the Resurrection will address what the Kansas City community can do to stand up for our neighbors and against the hate and intimidation espoused by white nationalist and white supremacist groups. Leaders of faith communities in the Kansas City area are coming together for this conversation, including Rev. Adam HamiltonRabbi Arthur Nemitoff and Rev. Mini MECA Challenge Friday, Sep. 22!

Curious about the upcoming MECA Challenge at Rockhurst on Oct.11? Come to libary periods 6-9 and take part in a mini MECA challenge to learn more and give it a try. We'll divide into teams and try to think outside of the box to solve a hypothetical problem related to STA. There will be snacks and fabulous prizes for the afternoon's winning team. MECA Challenge is a one day innovation competition where you will work on a team with an entrepreneur mentor to invent the best solution to a real-world startup problem. MECA Challenge is not just for business students, but also for designers, writers, techies, engineers and any other students interested in learning how to innovate.

Apply to Graphic Design Club

Working in a client-designer relationship; our club designers will work with other clubs, extracurricular groups, advisories, and the start shop to generate designs!  After receiving your feedback we will prepare the files to be printed at a company of you choice, although we like to shop local! 

As a member of the club, this is an opportunity for you to showcase your creativity while producing a great resource for the school community! Join our club, build your design skills and portfolio while having the members of our STA community model your work!  Membership limited to 20 students.  Applications due September 8th!  Contact Caroline Reynolds or Ruthie McKee with any questions.

Fall Sports Performance sessions

We’re thrilled to announce that REbeL is coming to STA! REbeL is a peer education program on a mission to change the definition of beauty and health for every body. We aim to create a safe space in our school for students to talk about media, body dissatisfaction, low self-esteem, eating disorders, and bullying to create change through activism in the school & community.
We are looking for 30 students across all grades to participate in this leadership program. This is not a club! We will meet once or twice a month during lunch activity. 
See the attached REbeL Student Application.  If you are interested in joining REbeL! Mrs. Johnson Whitcomb, Mrs. Prentiss or Mrs. Jacquin will be accepting applications in person or via email through Sept. 1st! Make sure you et yours in on time!

Give your eclipse glasses a second chance! Astronomers Without Borders and its partners are collecting ISO certified eclipse glasses to be sent to schools in South America and Asia when eclipses cross those continents in 2019.

Robotics Team Informational Meetings

There will be two meeting opportunities this week - Wednesday the 23rd and Friday the 25th, one during each Activity period. Meetings will be in D318.
